CAN DESIGN AWARDS 2024 RESULTS!

The 5th annual Can Design Awards Presented by Orora is officially revealed. We celebrated the creativity of the designers and marketers behind the eye-catching designs on the front of the can. Breweries were invited to submit ONE design released after 8th September 2023.

Thanks to all the awesome craft beer lovers that submitted in the 2024 GABS Can Design Awards! What an incredible campaign with such brilliant creative designs on display from breweries across Australia. It was fantastic to once again shine a light on the amazing can art on the outside of the tin. Huge thanks to our sponsors Orora and Opal for making it possible. See you again next year!

AUS GABS Hottest 100 Wrap

Congrats to the 436 Australian craft breweries who had beers nominated and voted for in the 16th edition of the annual GABS Hottest 100 Craft Beer poll. Mountain Culture Beer Co’s much loved Status Quo Pale Ale has gone back-to-back and been crowned Australia’s favourite craft beer for the second year running! It’s a repeat with Behemoth Brewing Co’s phenomenal Brain Smiles Pale Ale claiming top spot on the podium for the second year! Parrotdog Birdseye retains the silver medal spot and Garage Project’s Tiny Non-Alc Hazy IPA becomes the first ever non-alcoholic beer to appear on a GABS Hottest 100 podium ever! GABS Festival Brew Registrations

Every year, craft brewers from Australia, New Zealand and around the world come together to release a brand new brew exclusively for GABS Craft Beer Festival.

These one off ‘Festival Brews’, served from our distinctive festival bars, are a true showcase of brewing creativity and diversity. Many attract significant media coverage in the lead-up to the events, and all are eligible to win the highly coveted GABS People’s Choice Award at each festival and some go on to be legends in their own right.

Over the years, GABS has purchased hundreds of thousands of litres of craft beer as more than 1,000 Festival Brews have started their journey at GABS, and many of these have gone on to win prestigious awards and enjoy huge consumer demand.

There’s only one golden rule. A GABS Festival Brew must be a new brew that has never been released before. It can be made in any style, whether it’s something traditional, perhaps with a twist, or a highly creative brew with exotic ingredients.
